Need help finding out how to read my engine codes:confused:

I have a 1992 SVX with a 94 ECU (Encase that matters) and i have no idea what kind of computer tool I need. Subaru of America told me I was SOL, the local mechanics don't know even where it is hooked up, and the dealership says "We weren't even a dealership when that car was made" and laughs. :mad:

Can someone please help... What interfaces with what to get me those codes?

There is a reader that can read the SVX codes, the Subaru Select Monitor. They probably have one, but maybe not the special module or cable adapter???
