Urethane K staff front half spoiler project
I found a place to make our k style front half spoiler
out of urethane. Projected price will be aprox $350 plus shipping. But we need at least 15 deposits before we can attack this. there are pics of the glass one on our website www.planetsvx.com |
Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project
The thing is that's only half and not the whole thing. It will still require molding into the existing bumper. It shouldn't cost that mush more to make the whole bumper. Just a thought.

Not expressing interest but I agree. I couldn't believe they wouldn't go the extra 3".

Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project
you guys are missing the point..
its the difference of ease of installation. Half spoiler covers up any damage to a stock bumper cover from 80% on down, and installs in about 10 min. NO MOLDING NEEDED or required. (ie wings west, xenon and all the rest make most of theirs the same way) compared to a 3 hour installation job of a full bumper or longer, which is just more time not needed when doing a 80% half spoiler. Id personally much rather do the add on, its easier, faster cost less up front and in the long run. |

As long as you are making a new mold, I think it would look a lot cleaner to get rid of the two small openings on each side of the prominent license plate mount, and that raised mount itself There are many who don't have a front tag that may find the original design less than desirable. That is why the OEM license plate bracket works so well. It accommodates everyone. It would be easy to drill holes for a front plate if you needed to. ......http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c..._2030_10131984 ......http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/atta...1&d=1250734089 . |

I thought it was raw abs plastic?

Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project
Why would anyone want that thing? All it does is add weight and throw off the body line? Yuck

Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project
yeah, you are adding a whole 10 lbs if that..
it may not be everyones taste and really all Im asking is for those who would be interested, chime in.. other negative comments are so not needed... maybe go to a typical honda forum if thats your deal. |
Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project
for anyone interested, you put up your deposit and Ill

but to answer the question on everyones mind this part is about 7lbs heavier the one made of glass. Which one would win in a fight with a curb.. urethane, theres your winner. Save 7lbs and run half only a 3/4 or less tank of gas everywhere you go. |
Re: Urethane K staff front half spoiler project
also isn't it possible to cut the stock bumper and mold it with the new one or just mount it so that you aren't really gaining any weight you're just changing the shape of the same weight???
