Welcome, and good luck with your SVX. I like that rear wing treatment. I have never seen another like it.

Nice car!

I notice the in-dash navi. Did you have to remove the stereo door/cover to get it to work?

Hello Thierry, Bienvenue!

You are very welcome to the Network. That is a very nice car you have there, with many upgrades from standard. I hope you get great service from it.

The wing is the only one like that I've seen as well, and it's a good job. Istvan lavished great care on that car.

Good to have a French member on board. ;)

Joe :)

Re: new member from france!

Well Thierry

The guys on the Euro forum here are not prolific posters. They tend only to come on line when they have a problem most of the time, but that's OK.

The forum has more regular posters in the US. I think one primary difference is age. Younger members tend to use the internet more, tend to use the forums more. A lot of the US owners are young people, highly enthusiastic. Over here in Europe the owner profile tends to be older because younger people either can't afford to tax and insure the SVX, and also, I'd say, performance focused youngsters over here would not be seen dead in an automatic. Autos are much more acceptable in the States.

In terms of overall members worldwide comparatively we have a lot of active members, considering the age of the car. Most of the busier car forums with large numbers of posters are related to current models, Evos, Imprezas, Accord Euros and so on. The SVX last sold new in '97, which is 12 years ago now. That causes a drop-off in the numbers interested.

What we do have here is a family of like minded people who love the SVX and are happy to help one another.

:)

Hi there,
Being a skinflint I thought as you are going to homologate your SVX presumably it will be allocated a French number plate. I should imagine that there would be a UK SVX owner willing to buy the L6SVX regn number, sadly not me as my car is a year too old. I realise this may prove complex if an inspection is called for but just a thought....
All the best,
Steve

You dirty dog. My trip to France was a wonderfull experience, and partly because I, at least, tried to speak the language. I must say, I observed some less than acceptable behavior from USA tourists who demanded that English be spoken. Ireland is number 1 on my next place to visit but I am not sure I can handle the language barrier. :D

Hah! Come on over Gene. Welcome any time. :D

You will not have much of a language barrier. We have television, we understand American.

I tried French myself where possible on our trip but I am an absolute beginner. I found French people exceptionally helpful, particularly when they knew you were trying. I can't wait to go back, I think I left a little of my soul there.

Joe :)
