The car looks excellent! The pricing seems fair given the condition and mileage of the car. Although the wheels aren't exactly my taste, the rest of it looks great!

I would like to post a feeler! Who would like free candy? No, you can't have any, I'm just curious if you want some.

I never understood the point of feelers. Seriously, why? You either want to sell your car, or you don't. What happens if someone sees it, likes it, offers you what your asking, and you say no? If you would say yes, it's not a feeler, the car is for sale. If your trying to get an idea of hte value of your car, why not post "what's a fair value of my car" in the general section? Not only would it be more appropriately titled, but you'll get more traffic because most people visit general, not as many in the for sale section unless they're looking in the for sale section.

Re: fs 1992 subaru svx show room condition 52k feeler only

Jay,

I posted a feeler for my bordeaux because I wanted to see if there was any interest. Especially since not many people are buying SVXs. If I didn't get much interest I would wait a little longer before I posted it for sale. As the car sits now...if someone contacted me and offered me the right amount I would sell the car. But, for the most part I wanted to see if there was any interest.

This is how I interpret the phrase "feeler" in terms of selling cars.

Isn't that the point of listing something for sale? If there's interest, and the price is right, it's for sale. Listing it is by no means a binding contract. I've seen many cases where things go up with "feelers" to have the seller back out when offered his asking price. To me, it seems that folks want to know if they are asking a high enough price. "I want to list my car for 5k, but what if I could get 6k for it? I'll post a feeler, if people jump all over it, i'll list it for $6500 and see what happens." has been the vast majority of this sort of thing. If you'd take your asking price, then why not just say "For sale. Firm." Is there any difference? Putting up "feeler" gives the buyer a way to cop out if he changes his mind, or thinks he could get more money out of it. "oh, i wasn't really gonna sell it, i just wanted to see if anyone wanted to buy it." and then relisting it later. I've seen it a lot on other boards, less here, and it's generally irritating to the community once it becomes more frequent, and I'd hate to see it come full blown here. It's especially more likely here since there isn't a real solid "value" of the svx, being one could go for 10k one day, 3k the next, for virtually the same car.

I totally agree with you here. You are exactly right. People are foolish if they think we don't know what they are doing with "feelers"

Re: fs 1992 subaru svx show room condition 52k feeler only

Well my intentions for posting a feeler was to see if there was any interest. (There hasn't been BTW. :() It is for sale though and if someone offered the right amount I surely wouldn't back out. That's just :tard:

I do understand what you mean. I've had this problem in the past. Not with cars though.

Back on topic. It's a beautiful pearlie. AH GEEZE SOMEBODY BUY IT!!! :bash:

sory for all the confusion guys, my full intentions are to put it for sale in december, if some one on the boards was really intrested in the vehicle and willing to waite, i would rather sell it to some one here that can take care of it

im still iffy considering the economy status and work status, getting back into car payments

if the mods want to delete or lock the post i understand

sorry for all the confusion

I can't see us mods having a problem with your feeler post. At the same time I can see where Jay is coming from.

Personally I think your car is a thing of beauty and worth that price or something near it, but I'm not in the market. My advice would be similar to what Rebecca seems to suggest; if a real genuine buyer comes up with an offer near your estimate, let it go and proceed from there. :)

So much for a feeler.

If you really want to sell the car, you should show more pictures.
