is it possible?

is there any way i can make the transmission 50/50 all the time or at least close to it (better than 90/10). i have the original transmission. i was just wondering if there is a way to make the awd at a constant ratio all the time instead of changing. thanks

On a practical basis, sadly no. :(

Sure ya can... Cut the signal wire to the SOl. C. Seriously, if you wire in a switch, you can have 50/50 when you need it, and return the switch to the ON position to return to normal. BUT be careful as the binding can cause serious damage

As you drive your SVX 4EAT AWD, it is constantly changing.
The average is a 66/34 f/r bias.
I wired in a switch years ago and NEVER use it!

Serious damage to what specifically?
Mounts or transfer drum clutch or something else?

With due respect, I would suggest that you do a small amount of research, rather than involve others in endless time and effort. :D

Don't mind Trevor, he is a good guy... I learned the same way, by asking questions. The damage can move all over. More than linkely, sheering the transfer drum... Next on the list of common failures is burning out the clutches. So yes you were right in that those would be the first to fail

haha. well thanks everyone. i would rather just do a 5mt swap, low on green though, at least too low for that haha. i just wasnt sure if there was a SAFE way to do it. if anyone does a search they can see ive had some differential/speed sensor problems and i really dont want to take out my transmission since it seems to be in great shape. i think ill just drive it like it is until i absolutely have to do something about it. that seems like the best route for me right now and i can save up my cash and maybe have enough to get a 5mt by the time i need to do a swap!
