She'll have to go...

As I have just acquired another silver SVX, this time a '92, my very good condition '95 car is now for sale.

The car is taxed [till June] and has current MOT. I don't really want to sell it, it's too good, but space is my problem, I don't have storage to keep it.

This is a picture from the JAE show in 2006, where I fell in love with it. My Irish Mitsubishi I had at that show can be seen in the background, sold since, I now have a people carrier.:o

This is a picture of the car here in Ireland. As you can see, it still has the English registration, I have been too busy to use it.

This car has a recently rebuilt gearbox, so no problems on that score. It has 92K miles, no oil leaks and drives very well. The interior is in really good condition, one of the things that attracted me to it.

On the minus side it has a ding in the front bumper from a car park tow hitch, and there is a noisy front bearing.

The reason I bought this one is it is a good car and very straight. If you are in the market for an SVX, this one will not cost a fortune to run and will give good service.

PM me if you would like to talk about it.

Joe:)

I see little headlight washers!!!

oh - I have only seen one other SVX here in New Zealand with that option....

ahmed-abrar 01-15-2008 07:21 PM

hi, have you sold the car yet?

svxistentialist 01-16-2008 01:05 AM

No Ahmed, I still have her. I was over in England last week to collect the replacement car, which I call "Jersey Girl" because she came from Jersey.

Contact me by PM if you would like to discuss.

Joe:)

There's my right hand drive car I have been looking for:D. Wish I had the money and the space:(. Just for curiosity. Do you know how much it would be to ship it to the US?

Paul, I don't to be honest, but I have a friend who would know shipping rates England-US, and I'll check for you.

Just for comparison, I have shipped Japan to Ireland, and the rate for an SVX on Roll-on Roll-off is about €600, that's maybe $1000. I think it's around the same from Australia. It would be a surprise if the USA was much different, although the west coast may be more expensive, I don't know.

From what I know it is difficult to get the car allowed past your EPA. Even if allowed it has to be tested, and this "test" process is expensive. You would need to get information on this internally, it's not something that is visible or transparent from over here.

Thanks for your info Joe. This is something I have to look into intensively. I may also have to look around for one already here in the US to save on all the hassle:D. Thanks again.

You are welcome Paul, and the car is primed and ready for a trip if you find the EPA thing is do-able :D

The nearest source of RHD cars to you will be Canada. Their import laws allow jdm imports, and a couple of specialists bring the cars in.

What EPA regs apply when importing from Canada I don't know, but you can check with Earl, he has an ex-Canada car.

I would not hold your breath. It takes an act of God to get one into the country. It has to be older than 15 years, and there is a list about 1 mile long of other stuff you have to prove and conditions that have to be. I don't want to rain on your parade, but it a major problem. Once it gets here, they still may not let it into the country. :( :(

Thanks Earl, for busting my bubble:bash::D
