My Weekend Fling

This is what I'm riding this weekend. I'd love to add it to the stable, but can't right now. But boy, what a weekend it's turning out to be! :D

Nice bikeeeeee! My company is getting its dealership over here...
We also have KTM, I highly recommend the Super Duke... |
No bike lovers on here anymore? It's been a great weekend.

Tis a nice bike.
I used to like bikes, used to have one. However, smoking, eating, reading the paper, talking on cell phone, or carting a cup of wawa coffee in a car is easy, however, very difficult on a bike, thus the practicality is hard for me to justify. |
I still have the Aprilia and it is one amazing bike. My buddy took it up to over 120 and he said it was effortless. I'd still rather have a ZX-7R, but this one is keeping me grinning from ear to ear.
|
That Aprilia is twice the bike that the green machines could ever hope to be:) Im still recovering from being rear ended on my smokin joes almos 5mo ago. probably wont get another bike till I move out of Florida. Sad:mad:

Yes, very cool. I would expect the Mille to be a good deal quicker than the ZXR 7, no? I have a Blackbird myself, see below. Didn't get out this weekend, as I had to clean the chimney in preparation for installing a new stove. So my ridgetiles were the only thing I got a leg over.:rolleyes: Joe:D |
The RSV has 130hp and is 414lbs dry. I have to look up the numbers for the ZX-7R. I love Kawasaki's so I'm biased there, but the sound that V-Twin makes is amazing. Higher pitched then the I-4 in Japanese sportbikes.

Here is the 2002 ZX-7R I like:

They are too sporty in architecture for me to enjoy one as an everyday bike. They are good for a Sunday blast for an hour or two maybe. Ultra sporty is not too practical. Your tail way up in the air; all the weight forced onto your wrists; handlebars so near the front axle you can't look around in traffic? Not for me. They are designed to be good on a racetrack, so by default they are not ideal for the road and for observing other traffic. That's a Rotax engine in the 'Priller, BTW, and they have now produced a new twin for Buell which is in their new 1100 cc sport bike. Pretty quick but very ugly. Joe:) |
My back is fubared and I cant lay over a sportbikes tank at all. Besides, if I could ride one, I would be in a heep of trouble. I make it a point to watch all the races on SpeedTV....MotoGP, SBK, all of the US series, etc.
I currently have a HD FXDX. http://home.earthlink.net/~spioworks.../myscooter.jpg I'm thinking of test driving one of these ;) http://home.earthlink.net/~spioworks...hybermoto2.jpg |

After riding the RSV and the R6, I got on my ZR-7, which is a naked sport tourer and I feel like I'm sitting straight up, when in fact it's a slight lean. Here is a pic of the ZR:

How do we post the actual pics, instead of the little link window?
|
The picture needs to be hosted on some on-line server. It can be in your locker here on the Network, for instance. Or it could be on Flicker, or some of those.
Joe:) |
I thought there was a way to alter the url or something that posted it as a pic instead of a little link thingie. Yes I am very computer savvy! :) I can navigate around, but beyond that, not so much.
