Silicone Radiator Hoses??

So tonight, when I was planning on going to the Flying Saucer for a drink in Raleigh, I look down at the dash as I'm driving and what'd ya know, the temperature gauge is creeping above the "normal - slightly below halfway" mark... "Great!!" I think and pull in to a parking lot immediately... I sit there for a second, letting the car idle, waiting to see if the temp is going to come down at all and thinking about how all this crap seems to happen when I least expect it... Well the temp creeps down slightly, but still hovers just a bit above the normal place... Right, time to open the hood and see if I can see anything... I open the hood, desperately hoping that I'll see a radiator hose leaking instead of a head gasket or something major...

"Thankfully" I see steam coming from a small gash in the upper radiator hose... I guess I stressed it alittle much when I replaced the radiator a few months ago... Gell, as far as I know they are the stock radiator hoses!! So I'm damn glad that they've lasted as long as they did!!

Anyway, the point of this thread is to see if there is anyone out there that sells Silicone Radiator Hoses for the SVX... I know Dayle has them, but I honestly think that they can be had for cheaper than the $129 he has them listed for on his site... Anyone know of some??

He is the only one that I know of that has them available. :)

Do you know who supplies him?

I think he had them made for his shop. If I remember right, he made it a group buy to get them first made. I could be wrong though. :)

Damn... I'll e-mail him and see if he can do anything about the price... I just can't justify spending that much on hoses at the moment... I imagine the stock ones are ALOT cheaper... Might just be better going with new stock ones :(

I just replaced my radiator and hoses. Subaru ones are about $20 mail order for the upper and lower hoses (total).

45167PA020 Radiator Hose - Outlet
45167PA000 Radiator Hose - Inlet

I also replaced the two ATF hoses that attach to the radiator, another $73 for those.

45521PA031 Hose ATF - Inlet
45521PA041 Hose ATF - Outlet

Prices do not include shipping.

I'm probably going to end up replacing the rest of the heater/bypass hoses too.

HOLY ****!!! In that case, I'll be staying STOCK!! I don't have an extra $100 to just hurl at my car at the moment so the stockers will work totally fine :)

Remember man, I'm no longer burdened with an Auto... No need for the tranny hoses then :)

Ouch... Those ATF hoses can easily be replaced with 3/8" ATF hose available by the foot at any autoparts store. It costs about $1 a foot. However after having a worm clamp fail, I highly recommend paying $1.60 for the Subaru hose clamps.

The coolant hoses between the engine and the firewall are also easily found in bulk at the auto parts store. Just take in a section and ask them to match it to their bulk coolant hose. It won't be preformed into an "S", but it works great.

alright, well I just ordered the hoses from Subaru... Only stock ones at the moment... But hell, that's all I can afford  Thanks for the suggestions guys :)
