Mac + Flash = Frustration

ok, way off topic but:

I was enjoying some youtube yesterday and then suddenly when i traveled to a video there was a small bit of text with a link in place of where the video would be. ok so it seemed like no big deal, it's happened before, it simply tells me i need to update my adobe flash software, so i go to their site and proceed to download the newest version 9, and so i go thru with everything and it supposedly installs it, but then it pops up the adobe site and where it would normally tell you "successful download" it just told me i didn't have the plug-in, super frustrating since i know i installed it! gah!

part of this stems from the fact i'm using a MacBook Pro (latest edition, bought it right at the end of july) and it's running the latest OS X software

but it just refuses to acknowledge that i've installed the plug-in.

i just wanted to know if anybody has had a similar experience and knows what's up? i checked the troubleshooter on the site and it told me if i have firefox (which i do, but i generally use safari) that the program has a tendency to wanna install itself in the firefox folder improperly on computers that have it.

so i totally uninstalled and deleted every firefox item on my computer and flash still wouldn't install right.

I just really want some help!

I'll be posting this on some mac forum where those mac dorks might find it too, just so i can get some varied resources.

thanks :o:

Step 1: Sell Mac.
Step 2: Buy Thinkpad.
Step 3: Be happy.

haha well I had an HP zv6000 before this and i loved that computer, i bought the mac because i need the video editing capabilities that the pc's just couldn't match, however, as soon as it came down to general use in areas aside from actually making film, i realized i was getting boned. if i had the dough (it's an intel chip one, so this is kind of a cool feature) i could actually load xp onto it and run that so that i could have all the compatibility that i want, unfortunately i don't :(
