Swap passenger seat to drivers side

Can the seat cushions from the passenger side (manual) be swapped to the driver’s side (power)? Will it fit on the seat track? I found a car with a good passenger side seat – hardly any wear at all – just been in the rain!

I have read the How-to about switching upholstery but it was for manual seats. Thanks!

The passenger's seat will bolt in on the driver's side with no problem. Not sure about swapping just the covers.

Yes, this would involve switching seat cushions from passenger side to drivers so I could keep the power seat option. My wife is short and likes the height adjustable option with the power seats.

Well, I bought the passenger side seat... I'll keep you posted when I switch the cushions to the driver's side. Hopefully it will work. Worst case I'll just bolt in a passenger seat on the driver's side and convert to manual. :D

How about getting a power seat from a right-hand drive car and putting that on the passenger side (two power seats)? Has anybody done that?

I think the wiring to connect the RHD driver's seat on the passenger side of our car will be a more difficult problem to solve than actually finding a RHD seat (provided you want to spend the money of course).

that part is eazy i believe the only thing that runs to the seat is a power wire (not sure no svxes near by) because all the controls are on the seat its self

RHD power seat option

Guys - see the link below, I have bought quite a few things from this guy in NEW ZEALAND who is wrecking 2 SVXs.(his name is Peter)

If you guys want anything give him an email at - petersw@ihug.co.nz

Since the only wiring going to the seat is the power-in connector, then all you need to do is splice into the existing power supply (after all how often are you likely to want both seats moving at the same time - eg possibly overloading the supply & blowing a fuse?).
