pSI in tires???

HOw much PSi dose everyone go with on their tire for like a day drive. Cuz i have being putting about 33front and back.? WAs thinking of putting it at like 35 or something so i would not have to think about the psi in the tire for sometime

I run about 40 front/36 rear in a stock-sized, all-season touring tire. You should run higher PSI in the fronts; I believe factory spec is 33/29.

You are correct. I typically ran pressures close to what you recommended - like 40psi front and 37psi rear.

I usually have about 40/36 as well

I know the stock pSI but i'm not running stock tires or rims. The tires size is 225/45/17. So what so i put in then?

Lee, one of the members here, runs 40psi front and 28psi rear.

The 40f/28r tire pressure he is using is almost the same ratio as the 59f/41r weight distribution of the car, so it makes sense that the front and rear tires should have the same loaded radius when at these pressures.

For much more information than you ever wanted, check this thread for some interesting perspectives on tire pressure ratios:

40/36, 38/34, 34/30... just keep the proportions close to stock and don't exceed the tire manufacturer's maximum rating on the sidewall. Generally, softer tires will have a tad more bite and harder tires yield a slightly firmer ride and better fuel economy.

28 seems awfully low to me, even for the rears.

I normally run about 47/44 give or take a few psi on my 225/45/17

I get very good even treadwear at that pressure. Ride is a little harsh but I'll take a few bumps in exchange for not blowing a sidewall or bending a rim.
