The 9005 headlight mod

I'm going to do the 9005 bulb mod on the 92 tonight. I'm worried though that the bulb will be too bright and blind oncoming drivers. Is this not a concern because of how the headlights are aimed or should I lower the aiming a little?

I believe the projector lense takes care of the aiming so there's no issue.

Thanks. That's what I thought. It didn't seem like anyone was re-aiming after they did the mod so I guess it all works out:)

re-aiming? That assumes that people bother to aim their headlights in the first place :D

sorry, a little too much soda pop for me today :)

I don't think a re-aiming is necessary, the only thing that will happen is that the light that isn't blocked by the black cover on the 9006 will shine straight at the focal lens and I'm not sure what it will do with it. Hopefully send it out someplace nice ;)

Yeah, like right in front of the car :p

Well, hopefully I don't break anything tonight. Last time I did anything "bulb" related I mangled one of the metal clips that hold the fog bulbs in place

I've had them for about 2 years now without a problem. I think I ended up doing this mod twice and they last about a year

I did mine almost 2 yrs ago as well, but mine have yet to burn out.

I have used the Cool Blues and the first bulbs lasted about a year. I drive with mine on all of the time. :) It will give you lots more light and I could finally see. Good luck. :)

I'll try and take a pic to show cutoff, but it is a general idea

Modify your 9005 socket and tab as shown in the photo. Very easy
