passenger seat llateral adjust ment stopped working?

My passenger seat later movement stopped working for a while.
Mainly, the lever would not lock the seat. After a bunch of pushing and pulling and pressing down, it suddenly worked
and happily is back to normal?

Is this common? did they seat pop out of its rail?

In terms of lateral adjustment of the seat, that would mean side-to-side. Mine doesn't do this. I assume you mean longitudinal adjustment, front-to-back.

If you have to actually press down on that lever, maybe the spring came off or broke. I'd check on that.

I think a few have had that problem before. Turns out that stuff was stuck in the track and was not allowing the seats to move to the lock position.

Have you been dropping spare change in your car? :)

oops , yes i meant longitudinal adjustment. As for change, not that I know of, of course something stuck in the rail was the first thing I thought of,

I reach all around and found nothing. I basically cant moving it back and forth and when i put pressure ont he seat at one pt, it just snapped back in.

First happened when my tall friend sat in the seat with his legs cramped up, i think he was putting all his weight at a certain place while trying to move the seat back.
I beleive, that "unaligned the seat" somehow

was a bit perturbed, but it seems ok now
