Clear headlight shields

1 Attachment(s)
Yesterday I received the clear headlight shields that I won on ebay; They are absolutely gorgeous!

They are crystal clear ,optically perfect 1/8" hard acrylic, precision molded to the contours of the headlights/parking lights. They have small clear silicone rubber bumpers to hold them slightly away from the lens. They just snap on and off without difficulty.

The part number on the shields and on the instructions is a Subaru Canada part no. SCI700204. I called Barrie Subaru in Ontario and they said they just sold the last pair in the Canadian Inventory (they went for $82.63CAN or $61.64US)

They were made in Australia. I am wondering if that part number is in existance in Subaru Australia, the UK, or Subaru Japan. Maybe so of our more distant members (Jamsvx, Trevor, Paddlesnz, svxistentialist, AndyShaleUK...) can do a little research on these. They are much to good an item to let slip away.

Would dirt and road debris get down between the the lense and the headlight though?

I don't think so. The shields are installed with the hood up. The top of the shields curve up over the headlights along the top edge and the hood covers it completely. water, rain or anything should run right off.

They are so easy to remove that there would be no problem cleaning anything that got underneath.

I mainly wanted them for long road trips to protect my new headlights or in the winter time when the salt trucks spray chemicals. It would be much easier to buff out scratches, etc. on the covers than the headlights themselves.

Let us know how they hold up!

I saw those and am interested in them too. Thanks John. :) I had a pair that I put on my Toyota at one time. They worked great!

Yes please do. I had these shields on my 88 GL-10. They came with the car so by the time I got them they were less than clear. I still drove around with them installed, but whenever I'd take them off to wash the car, etc, the headlights looked so much better. I suppose like you said though, you could use some good plastic polish on these to keep them looking new. :)

I just picked up the last pair in Canada, I think.

They just arrived today, so I went to the dealer, and they told me the part# SCI =Subaru Canada Inc.
so if your looking for the same part elseware, try SOA for the Subaru Of America, and ? for your country.

They don't look like they work very good. I'll take them off of your hands for cheap. Yep, that is what friends are for. :D They would look good on my car/cars! :)

You know, they were a little scratched, I suppose I could be convinced to part with them,

I'll trade you them for one of your 93's

Earl Thinks about it for a second...OK, he's done.....
