How's that for strange?

I went to the site that girl was advertising, "www.protestwarriors.com", and was looking through the site when the entire site went off-line. I love what they do. They intermingle with anti-war protestors like they are with them, except their slogans, while on the surface appear to be against the war, are in reality in support of it. I can't help but wonder how long it takes the hippies to realise what they are all about. :p Totally cool! When the site comes back up I would suggest you pay a visit to it. ;)

I was able to connect to it. Hysterical.

Latest poll today show 73% of the French are against the was & 53% hopes we LOSE it.

But something like 20% of France is Arabic.

A long time ago, Britain and France were at war.
During one battle, the French captured an English
major. Taking the major to their headquarters, the
French general began to question him.

The French general asked, "Why do you English officers
all wear red coats?

Don't you know the red material makes you easier
targets for us to shoot at?"

In his bland English way, the major informed the
general that the reason English officers wear red
coats is so that if they are shot, the blood won't
show and the men they are leading won't panic.

And that is why from that day to now all French Army
officers wear brown pants.

The French

Some out there will say the French did not put up much of a fight in WWII. As it is they lost over 100,000 men. The reason more weren't lost had something to do with them losing over 1,000,000 during WWI. I guess even a population as "loving" as the French had a hard time breeding enough men in 20 or so years to properly man an army.

Let us also not forget that the French paid thanks to us all those years ago with a little trophy that still stands today in New York harbor. Perhaps we should send Lady Liberty back?

Lastly the French played no small part in our nation winning its independence from the British Crown over 200 years ago. As their nation is much closer physically to Iraq I'd assume they'd have reason to be more concerned about WMD and someone's desire to use them. The fact that they don't seem as concerned as us could and should tell us something.

To be sure the French possess a good deal of "personality". However, the US seems to be more full of itself than any other nation on earth at the moment. Being full of oneself does not, logically, allow room for rational thinking. Surely many Americans have lost the distinction between Nationalism and Patriotism. We seem to have become incapable of viewing ourselves objectively and with an open mind to facts. Very disappointing for a nation which wishes to be viewed by the world as possessing maturity.

Of the "coalition" only the Brits have put troops in harms way along with ours. Of the "coalition" fully 50% have given "support" on the condition of anonymity. Funny thing isn't it that every nation opposing our actions has been announced to the entire world.

But I will grant you that the girl protestor is a cutie.

That's not entirely true. Australia has commited a few thousand troops for combat, as well.

That's the first I've heard of any nation offering support to this action 'anonymously.' How would a nation do something anonymously? What's your source for this information?

Ah, something we can agree on. :D

Despite your good points, I can still relate to the poster. I think France's standing on the conflict is absurd.

I don't agree that France's opposition to the war in Iraq has anything to do with whether or not they believe that Iraq still possesses WMDs.

i don't think France is worried about Iraq's WMDs because they have a healthy business relationship (that this war is interfering with.)

Since when have the French been right about a war..?

That means we must be right! :)

My conclusion exactly, but you seemed to suggest that France was not concerned about Iraq's alleged WMDs, so we shouldn't be, either. I countered that by saying that France's stance on the war had little to nothing to do with their conclusions concerning such alleged WMDs.

The link I'm making is this: if alleged Iraqi WMDs have little or nothing to do with their stance on this war, what part of this stance are we supposed to consider adopting, according to you?

lhopp77 04-02-2003 03:57 PM

Fight??

For the record, it only took the Germans 33 days to overrun and occupy France in 1940. I don't think their losses in WWI were the reason for that.

And the female "protester" is NOT a protester if you read her message. She is a supporter.

Be careful, talk like that might get you labled unpatriotic or even a traitor... at least that was the response I got from some of my extended family when I pointed out those same facts.
