Mileage Per Tank

What are all of you getting per fill up. I'm only getting about 230miles to the tank and Im pretty sure I should be getting better mileage.

94SubieSVX 12-06-2007 07:10 PM

I get between 15-21mpg depending on how I drive.

Crazy_pilot 12-06-2007 07:11 PM

I get between 400 and 450 KM per tank, 100% city driving in rush hour. So...*does math* between 250 and 275 miles. I haven't done a highway cruise with the SVX yet, but I expect mileage to be significantly better on lone trips (go 3.54 gears:D).

Oh, and I have two bum O2 sensors right now, which doesn't help mileage any:rolleyes:

kuroneko_sama 12-06-2007 07:14 PM

i usually dont go past the 1/4 tank mark... though on a few occasions ive hit 380 then.... the light comes on then fades in and out a little bit... i bet itd go dry before 400 though i check my milage every tank

i tend to average 24.5 mpg in the summer

about 21-22 on winter tires (driving habits tend to change in winter as well)

reptar_head 12-06-2007 07:46 PM

I get 23mpg highway, and 18mpg in town. I only use Shell premium.

Manarius 12-06-2007 07:47 PM

I could get 27mpg on the highway/a few miles in town. So, I'll say around 28 or 29mpg highway.

Around town though with teenage driving (some jackrabbit starts), it's usually around 20mpg.

jeffast 12-06-2007 08:03 PM

i got 28 once on the freeway, and i get 20-22 on the free way

Wikedjuggalo 12-06-2007 08:06 PM

Jesus, I get freaking 16 thats it. 200 miles per fill up then light comes on. How do I improve this ; ; this mileage sucks. And I have FWD I thought they were better on gas ; ;.

redlightningsvx 12-06-2007 08:07 PM

i got about 28-30 highway and about 23-25 city i've gotten 400+miles on a tank filled to the brim once

O2 sensors, knock sensors, fouled plugs, clogged injectors, dirty airfilter, jackrabbit driving, excessive driving at high speeds (like above 70mph), tires not filled up, constant idle (city driving), consistent use of air conditioner (ie pressing the auto button). Take your pick, all these contribute to bad gas mileage.

shelfy 12-06-2007 11:04 PM

i usually fuel up around 360 before the low fuel light comes on around 400 miles, but i'm sure i could squeeze 450 out of it if i was brave. i use the cheapest 85 octane regular fuel i can find.

Strife 12-07-2007 12:01 AM

I get about 350km to a tank. which is around 50$?
94 octane only.

NikFu S. 12-07-2007 01:23 AM

I was getting between 14 and 19 mpg last year. Driving style, quality of fuel, weather, idling, crusty sensors and parts, it all adds up.
I did notice the dealer window stickers note the fuel range between 14 and 25. There may be nothing "wrong" with your car.

JaySVX 12-07-2007 03:10 AM

I get around 230 miles per tank as well. Bumper to bumper traffic for most of my commute doesn't help, plus my 5 speed, 3.90 gears, and periodic spirited driving. It could be worse i guess, but it could be better. cross country last summer i hit almost 30mpg, but it was all highway, all day long.
