Trunk doesn't spring up...

Is the trunk supposed to spring up a little when it's released from inside, or unlocked with the key? If so, is that a function of the trunk struts? My struts hold the trunk up fine, but when I unlock the trunk it doesn't move up at all, which causes me to have to hold the key in the 'unlock' position with one hand and lift it with the other. That's very hard if I'm carrying something that needs to go in the trunk. My inside release doesn't seem to work at all.

It may not visually pop up at all, but it will come up just a little bit to be free of the latch. Not sure what's going on with yours not doing that, but it check whether the switch at the inside of the trunk where it latches is flipped the wrong way, causing the inside release lever not to work.

It's not the inside release lever causing it to not pop up- I've played with the switch.

The trunk didn't "spring up" the day it was created!

Yea but it should stay unlatched when you unlatch it.

If you have a wing on it it will barely open. Mine pops up an inch. My 92 pearly when I had the wing installed, when you popped the trunk you had to leave the driver door open . If you closed it, it was enough to drop the trunk lid down and relock it.
