Local guy here selling one from a 98 Forester, 144k miles. Shifted fine, but may need rebuild due to leaking from diff and fluid pump. Wants $100 for it, I can send you his info if you'd like...

5 spd 4.44's were found in JDM STI's in the 90's, and 2 years of US Forester turbo's. Typically not cheap when you do find them.

Another thing to note, a 4.44 5 spd is absolutely useless in an SVX.


-I edited my post as those are the 2 most common known 4.44 5 spd's for those that look for them. I'm sure there are others that had them, but still, not many.

Expensive and useless, 3,000 RPM at 60 MPH ( that would be an estimate ) it would be like driving in 4 th gear in a 5 speed or 3rd in an automatic. It would be ballsy, I will tell you that. I had 4:11 in a stick shift car once . I can't imagine 4:44. I know guys that ran 4:56 in their cars. Top end was like 95 MPH . What is the point. Can't imagine what the MPG would be :barf:
