JDM Stereo anyone?

Anyone have one at a resonable price? I got my nice JDM steering wheel installed just trying to hunt one down the stereo so my audio controls work. Looking in the N.American area, cause shipping kills from japan/overseas.
Any other JDM goodies or something "unique" at a resonable price.
Thanks,
Darrell

Would you post the details of your car? Last 6 digets of the VIN or the whole VIN would be better. Trim package and other details. I will get you on the owners list. :)

I may be wrong, but I think the JDM stereo will not pick up US frequencies.

That is correct. It is set up with different frequencies and with out major modification, it will not work here.

I have a JDM radio in my SVX (to match my JDM steering wheel with radio controls) and yes it works, and yes the frequencies are wrong for US stations....but you can get a frequency correcter (I ordered one from Australia where they run into to this issue more often than us) was about $75 shipped if I recall...

Huck,

What model is your JDM radio P411 (same model # as USDM)?

Darrell- if all you want is a radio that will work with the JDM SWCs, the resistor values in that wheel are compatible with PAC Audio's steering wheel interface modules. There are many recent HUs that will work with the PAC interfaces.

I can add the extra SWC wire to one of my harnesses for you, so you won't have to tap the car's wire.

I think you'll be happier with a HU that isn't 18 years old and requires the band-shift kludge to tune in the upper half of the dial here. :)

Thanks Huck, The JDM radio that was with my JDM car is the same model as the USDM radio so I would expect that it does not work with the steering wheel interface, however, it does work well with CD stacker in the trunk.:)

OK my VIN is JF1CX3533NH102999 Trim is Blue Suade with Leather Interior. It is White pearl 2tone(with the black top) Has rear spoiler sun roof abs the whole 9 yards. It is Decal out =) Its my little racer that I saved from being in the junk yard. I had to redo the whole car lots of sanding and bringing her back to OEM again. I love it, even though no one wants to buy her because I restored her. Any other details you need let me know, and I am bringing her back home to Appleton WI.(currently stuck in Ft.Myers FL till mid Jan)
Darrell
