Roundy guy does good

Of course Dixon drives an open wheel car in the IRL, but nothing like a F1 machine. Look how close he came to Ralf's time!

cool.

F1 needs to find an American driver so the masses have someone to identify with. Speed did a swap with Montoya and if I remember that guy did OK - was it Burton or ??

Since Senna died, I've always been Schumacher fan most of the time. I love F1 compare of the american style racing in a big round circuit.

The swap with Montoya was Jeff Gordon, who was rumored to be set for a longer more extensive "test" but quelled the rumor last week. The next American F1 driver would logically come from open wheeled racing, but who knows!?

Glenn

OH, and Lwin, they're not "circles". In addition a number of the "ovals" have different banking, etc at each end of the oval. Track lengths vary, as do the top speeds, including the superspeedways where restrictor plates prevent them from hitting over 200MPH. Fact is that it's not a situation where you just hold the steering wheel and stomp the throttle. The modern Cup cars are turning 11,000 rpm's with around 850HP. This is not your "father's NASCAR"!
Personally I love to see them road race at courses like Infineon(Sears Point) and Watkins Glen.

American in F1

Dixon is a Kiwi. Most of the more established American drivers are already into contracts (and job security) that would preclude
them getting involved with the intrigue that is F1. Unlike Dixon, Jeff Gordon had no Champ Car/IRL experience when he swapped with Montoya at Indy last year, which makes his performance all the more remarkable. The guys I would like to see test with Williams would be 1. Tony Stewart 2. Sam Hornish 3. Robbie Gordon 4. Kasey Kahne ...for starters. The new Red Bull program to find a American F1 candidate may produce a young dark horse.
It will be interesting. :) Whatcha think Pockets?

I hope so. :) I paid attention to the Red Bull program for awhile, but haven't heard about any of the drivers finding success. Are they even still running it?

Edit: Apparently it is:
