Door Lock Actuator
 

Hello SVX'rs.
I just heard back from Subaru dealer. They do not stock (or sell) the driver door lock actuator. Been searching and reading for a solution.
I'll tear it apart tonight and try to 'repair' it. If that doesn't work, does anyone know where I can get a replacement? May be new or used. Otherwise, if I just remove it entirely, will I end up with manual locks? Any problems with all the lever hookups?

I scrapped a couple doors last year and stripped out all the parts before dropping them off. I am pretty sure I would have one if you needed it. However I might need a picture or a diagram of what it looks like.

I have not pulled the latch assembly yet... but I have heard it is the 'black box' attached to the back of the door lock latch.
It's times like these that I wish I had a mechanically inclined girlfriend with small hands to fit inside the door.
Then, I could just watch and provide instructions.
Oh well... here come the cuts and scrapes and blood.
Let me know if you have the driver side actuator. I'll be back on the computer on Monday for an update. Thanks ... Ron W.

I checked out the one on Ebay. Greasy, Grimey, Gopher Guts !
I would be surprised it worked.
Tearing mine down tonight. I'll take some pics and do a repair write up if it works. If it doesn't, I'll just graphite the door locks and go 'old school' on the entry method.
