Shifting from Drive to 3rd

Ok, so I was wondering, if lets say you were in drive, and you shifted to 3rd, in anyway would that harm your tansmission?. Also the said speed at which you shifted was 45-35miles an hour.

At that speed, there should be no cause for concern.

i have to do that several times daily. my tranny's not happy in 4th gear less than 2000 RPMs. :(

I once changed down from D to 3 as I braked for a tight corner. As I exited the corner and applied the gas, the revs soared and car didn't accelerate at all. Then I realised I'd pushed the stick forwards to N rather than back to 3. Boy did I feel stupid :o
