car did a weird stall
Ok so last night i was backing out of my driveway and i locked the wheel right to turn out and the car lost all power and stalled. Then upon restart i turned the key and got nothin....no sound no clicking no nothin. Then 2 seconds later i tried again and it started up fine and was fine the rest of the night. This also happened to me back in april as well. I locked the wheel right and it stalled. Almost like i lose alot of power when i turn the wheel. Anyone have an idea why this happens?

Your power steering belt also runs the alternator....as you probably know. Sounds like the extra stress of a full-deflection turn at little or no forward speed is causing the belt to slip, which in turn causes lower alternator output. I'd check for a worn or loose belt.

Hey dave im thinking it is the belt because there is this groan when i turn the wheel. Always been there since i bought the car. How much to fix?

a new gatorback belt from autozone is $15.99

As general info it is bad to turn your wheels to full lock and hold them there. It puts a ton of strain on the power steering system and will lead to premature failure.

i never do that..i just had it there for half a second and it stalled. I know its bad to hold it there.
