"Old Timer's Club" (Yahoo alumni)

Since today is the 3rd Anniversary of the Network, I thought it might be fun to see how many of us were around on that great day three years ago when the doors opened here.

Post here if were a SVX owner and member of the online SVX community (probably the yahoo club or maybe KC forums) three years ago today. How many of us are still around, driving our SVXes and posting! :)

I was! :D

I sure was. Back then I was 'cube47.' I made up that handle because I was in cubicle #47 at work.

That was two jobs and two states ago. :D

I was not around for the big kick off here, but was on the yahoo site and then sighned up here. What a difference! I don't get over to the Yahoo site much, but still go over and visit once in a while. :)

Joined Yahoo just after the Liberty State Island meet which, I believe, was the first US SVX meet...

I was on yahoo as green1995svx. It took me a couple months to switch over here though. :)

I poked around in Yahoo for months as "tsutsuhund" & read the first 30,000 posts before buying a genuine SVX. I later met John (svxcess) in a local parking lot, who directed me here a month after the grand opening. I still occasionally go back "there" to examine my humble roots & see what LarryIII has to say.

In the early days.

I could not wait of this board to start.

After a year or so on Yahoo, and then James started the Australian section on Yahoo. But then the adds started.

I remember posting how the FWD fuse worked differently on my Australian model, putting it in Four Wheel Drive, Wow in those days you realy did need to keep the "flame suit" handy :D

Remember when James reported there was a rear wheel steer model.

Glad to have those days behind us. Thanks to all the people that worked to start, and continue to keep, this great board going. You all have my continuing support.

I have a Road and Track from Fall of 91 that tested and evaluated the 92 SVX. I'm currently in the process of moving, so as soon as I unbox it, I'll post the specs.

That was almost 5 years after purchasing my SVX in July of 94.

Man, I have learned a lot since then.

More of the latter...

That was actually our ISP's motto (unofficial) back around '98.

"MIX Communications, Dragging your company kicking and screaming into the 21st century"

Here's to a great bunch of people on a great forum!

I bought a new '91 Subaru Legacy Turbo Sport Sedan and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I still remember drooling over the 'new' SVX in the showroom. I always wondered how I could afford to own this wonderful vehicle (and whether I could live with a 2-door- as a salesman- samples, catalogs and such)

I've had my Red '94 LSi since Feb. '98 when I bought it from a salesman/friend (at Morrie's) coming off a 4 year lease. It was the customer's 2nd SVX. She (yes, SHE!) had already owned a Black '92 (which was then bought by Ken Zamuda of Z-Tech - for those here in the Twin Cities that have met the ultimate Subaru guru). It was cherry! It looked like a new car- only 27,000 mi's! I'm now coming up on 132,000 mi's., so I've been able to enjoy this wonderful car for six years and 105,000 mi's. Lucky me.

I had to research it, but my first post on the Yahoo forum was on October 1, 1999. Thanks to Stevebsy, we had a 'mini' meet- about 6 SVX's- in Duluth in May, 2000. We missed out meeting Picklesb1tch (modified to protect the innocent) because he had to close on his new home that week. I found out later in talking to him that the house he was buying was my grandparent's house! I only wish we could talk our old Yahoo friend, Shotsky1 into spending more time here.

The new SVX 'home' is fantastic, but the people here are what really make things click.

Let's hope this forum is still going 3+ years from now. I plan on continuing the relationship with my SVX well beyond as well.

-Mark
