Used Tires on Rims ?
 

I have read that it is bad to buy mix matched tires for the SVX, but what about buying used rims on used tires assuming the tires are all the same and reletively evenly worn?

I don't see why not! People buy used rim/tire combo's all the time! If you notice a difference, like one is bald and the rest are 7/10 then yeah it's a problem. Otherwise, not really.. Just make sure they are the right size for your vehicle or you'll end up with problems...

Just make sure they are ALL the same tire size, and ALL the same tread depth. If they are, you should be fine.

On subaruoutback.org they suggest that all tires be within 1/4 inch of each other in diameter. I measured my mixed snows with a soft measuring tape wrapped around the middle and all were under a 1/4" different.

if they are directional, make sure that is correct!
