looking for a 97 grill
 

i like the grill with out the light so i was wondering how much they went for

I have seen them for around $150 or so, but haven't seen any for awhile. :) I will do some looking for you if you want. :)

I bought mine from 1stsubaruparts.com for basically $150 shipped. The grille was $130 and then I bought two new clips for $5 and shipping was a flat 10 percent (so $13). You do not necessarily need the new clips, especially if you are careful and don't break the ones you have. However, even though I didn't break the original clips when I installed the new grille, I still ended up using the new ones as the 97 grille is held on by four clips while the waterfall is held on only by two. Painting cost me $50, but I got a super good deal cause the body shop has done a lot of work for me before. Anything below 100 is probably reasonable for painting. The new grille is DEFINITLY worth it though as it really changes the look of the car and removes what is IMHO the one major design flaw of the SVX (i.e. the waterfall grille).

When I got my '97 grille, I purchased the paint and clearcoat kit from Paintscratch. If you are patient and sand between coats the results are quite good. Will save you some money.
