Programing Mode (Cannot Enter)

Cannot get my baby into programing mode after new Battery:

I used the search in the forum & help and it advised me to turn off the security button, key on, key off, did not work. Tried the key on, key to acc and this did not work. Both times I tried hitting the Security button on & off for up to two minutes and my car will not go into programing mode. I followed the document but no go. Very frustrating. What am I doing wrong? :(

Thank You for listening to my rant.

I don't know what posts you have read, but here are step-by-step instructions:

BTW, I hope the '>' in your user name means 'converted to' and not 'greater than'. Just because Americans might think that doesn't make it true. :p

The security modules in the 92's did not have permanent memory. If they went without power for too long they would get all wacky. That's probably what happened to yours. Unfortunately, you may need a new security module. Subaru fixed the problem in 93, and from then on all security modules had permanent memory and could be without power for long periods of time and not be affected by it. There was a retro fit kit for the 92's to fix that problem...not sure if they still exist.

Thanks Guys. The Car sat for 4 years. I bet the module is dead. I will go to the Dealer and see what he says before I pull out my wallet.

The > stands for converted ;)

Well I went to Sub Canada and they told me they did not sell 92 SVX's with Security here! Thus they do not know anything about these alarms(Texas Instruments?) Seeing that I cannot get it into Programming mode and it does not Alarm Passive, should I go for an aftermarket alarm or try to fix this one? Vipor? Clifford? Stock???:(

Post in the Wanted/For Sale Forum and see if anyone has one for sale. Good luck. :)
