New Group Buy that everyone will want

I have a great idea. Lets get Stevesby to tool up to make little Osama bin Laden dolls. If anyone can sew we need at least 10 little robes to make this happen. Left over material can be used for the turbin. Also need the beard and some little sandles. GI Joe beards are too short, we need a long knarley zz top beard. Little sandles may be obtained in the Malibu Barbie catalogue.

Options include

- noose
- Vocalization including anti american cursing in Arabic, screeming from the heat of a bic lighter, a big OWE when flicked in the head.
- LARGE buthole for objects, squeeling sound optional.

I think this would go far to help alieviate some of the anger people are feeling towards this psycopath. What do you think? Can we do it? We can put the funds made towards new Transmission rebuilds. What do you say?

Sewing?

Ack! I don't know how to sew!

I wouldn't be surprised to see your idea on the shelves in a week or so, however. Kinda reminds me of the Iatolla-assahola shirts and Saddam Hussein targets of the past....

That is not going to undo anything that has already happend. There are a lot of people in the world who are looking for the downfall of the western world and those will be happy. They may not be the ones behind all the crap, but they will be happy. That's the way they were brought up. Why lower to their levels? Justic will be done -- if not on earth, in hell.

Pollitics and media journalism are games best played by experts.

Don't believe everything you hear on CNN, and don't jump to conclusions. Bin Laden's suspect status could be done for a variety of reasons:

1. Calm down/reassure the public that the US is in control and will fight back. Scapegoats are necessary if the actual attacker can'r be found.
2. Shoulder more blame onto Bin Laden, because he allegedly executed some other previous atrocities. This may make his assassination easier to justify, or it may be an attempt to destroy his power base.
3. Blah blah.

I'm tired. Too lazy to write more.

But don't trust everything the media has to say.

Chuck,

Let's not attack an entire people like the Arabs.
People are individuals.
Bin Laden is an evil that will eventually be erradicated.
Hitler was the same kind of evil but not all Austrians and Germans are evil.
Your doll idea reminds me of the characatures used by the Nazis to portray the Jews in the 1930's.
Surely we have progressed beyond that.

I too am frustrated and I want the SOB to pay for his crimes (I'll even give him the injection if they let me)but not all Arabs hate the USA. I consider myself a "New York City Kid" and feel that these terrorists "f-ed over" my city. They will be paid back.
But only them and the people (governments) that aid them.
It makes no sense to bomb goat herders and date pickers, even if they despise us.
Bin Laden could not pull off these attrocities without vast funds. Arms dealers, like drug dealers are not interested in ideology. They want money. Track the funds and we find Bin Laden.

Sorry about the rambling rant. I'm seething inside.

Gentlemen...

Let's leave this *out* of ModMania shall we??

cdigerlando 09-13-2001 06:03 AM

I am not grouping all arabs. I have friends who are arabs. Sorry for putting this here, but I was feeling very depresssed, and thought others might appreciate an outlet.

I don't think this is the way that it will be done...I hate to say it but there is now way a lethal injection of bin Laden will satisfy the American people.

Larry,

Mr Bin Laden IS loaded with family fortune. So he is not looking for money. Like hamas and PLO at one time, those too are not looking for money. Bin Ladin's family also donated a lot to Havard Univeristy. Like the Red SVX 92 said, US does need a scape goat and all fingers does point to Osama -- Damn, what a popular person. We all know him by his first and last name.

Like the OK bombing, we all thought it was Middle Eastern radicals who did that but it did turn out to be Ameicans. It was just on the news that they found the body of the pilot. let's just wait and see.

Lwin,

Please don't get me wrong. I want the right person that ordered this attack and financed it. I can wait. I just want to be there at his/her end.

I haven't heard about any bodies from the planes being found, either. And I've heard the same - nothing larger than a phone book is left of the plane that crashed in PA. But the plane that hit the Pentagon may yield some very good evidence as all of it stayed right there rather than being scattered in half a million tons of rubble or across a strip mine.

And on a more positive note

Gang,

Please take the time to read this during our most difficult hours. It may
actually bring a little light into an otherwise dark time.

This, from a Canadian newspaper, no less, is worth sharing.

America: The Good Neighbor.

Widespread but only partial news coverage was given

recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from

Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television

commentator. What follows is the full text of his

trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional

Record:

"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the

Americans as the most generous and possibly the least

appreciated people on all the earth.

Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and

Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the

Americans who poured in billions of dollars and

forgave other billions in debts. None of these

countries is today paying even the interest on its

remaining debts to the United States.

When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it

was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward

was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of

Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United

States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59

American communities were flattened by tornadoes.

Nobody helped.

The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped

billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now

newspapers in those countries are writing about the

decadent, warmongering Americans.

I'd like to see just one of those countries that is

gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar

build its own airplane. Does any other country in the

world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the

Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why

don't they fly them? Why do all the International

lines except Russia fly American Planes?

Why does no other land on earth even consider putting

a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese

technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German

technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about

American technocracy, and you find men on the moon -

not once, but several times and safely home again.

You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs
right in the store window for everybody to look at.

Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded.

They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless

they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American

dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.

When the railways of France, Germany and India were

breaking down through age, it was the Americans who

rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the

New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an

old caboose. Both are still broke.

I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to

the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me

even one time when someone else raced to the Americans

in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even

during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one

Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get

kicked around. They will come out of this thing with

their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled

to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating

over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one

of those."

Stand proud, America!

Thanks Canada! I hope they realize that this event would have been equally dispicable if it happened in Japan, Australia, England, Ireland, Canada, or any other country, and that the American people would be at the forefront to resolve this situation, as if it happened to us. Thanks for the moral support. It is GREATLY appreciated.

cdigerlando 09-13-2001 11:53 AM

Evidence

The physical evidence has been destroyed. A stewardess called and reported the perpetrators seat numbers. These people have been video tapped and evidence, although not complete, is pointing to Bin Laden. ANY country supporting this man and his organization is responsible, and it has become a matter of national security to ensure that all of these supporting governments are brought down, in my opinion. The losses are too great. Too many people are suffering, Islamic as well as Christian, to allow this type of militant behavior to continue.

We conquered Japan and Germany, who are now two of the most powerful nations in the world. They are truly our friends now. I am proud of that most. I think it is time to straighten these areas out with democracy, and show them what America is all about. Tolerance, freedom, and distributed wealth.

I would like to point out that there are some unthanked heroes in this crisis. Those are the men who thwarted the attack of the 4th aircraft. The last contact with this aircraft was a man saying goodbye to his wife, because he and some others were going to take out the terrorists. Well they probably saved a tremendous amount of lives doing that. Just another act that makes me proud to be an American.

My opinion only

Chuck D.
