Favorite place to purchase SVX parts

Hey all,

I'm looking to pick up a complete SVX engine as well as a few other misc. parts such as water pump and valve gaskets. I was hoping someone could recommend an online retailer. I'd like to stay within the SVX community.

You can get a water pump and what not from Ebay (timing belt kit and idle). as far as gaskets I have always ordered from Jackie from Annapolis Subaru. Always prompt on shipping and no excessive S/H charges. I have to find her number in bit.

Check out subaruparts.com Their website has a detailed parts diagram and competitive prices. They are notorious for long shipping delays, but they are on the west coast (washington) and perhaps your shipping times will be less due to your location.

I use subaruparts all the time to get part numbers and go to my local dealer. You'll find that most dealers will match competitors pricing, at least thats been my experience.

I live in OR and can say that Subauparts is slow, i order from jackie because it is usually shipped same day I place it. also don't like the Shipping and handling charges that are added from them. Great diagrams though.

Shipping for the OP from MD to CA would be quite expensive...why not just go to a local dealer?

If one lives outside a major metropolitan area, there's probably no such thing as a "local" Subaru dealer. In my case, a round-trip would be 3-4 hours. Years ago I phoned a dealership in north metro Atlanta and expressed a willingness to shop "locally" if they could ship to me. The price they quoted for whatever I needed that day was full retail list, plus the shipping. Thanks, but no thanks. Subaruparts.com is cheaper (I suspect the same holds for Annapolis Subaru and Liberty Subaru, as often recommended here), and when you consider that few dealerships stock SVX-exclusive parts, in most instances there's going to be a wait, regardless.

the local dealer in denver is clueless when it comes to the svx, i usually have to give them the vin so they understand what car i am even talking about. i usually get parts from napa or rock auto. i stay away from sites like auto anything or similar sites because they don't actually have any parts but instead relay to the manufacturer or another retailer to have the part shipped to you. if you get the wrong part or it's damaged in some way it's impossible to get your money back. i spent 6 months trying to get the disc brakes australia rotors for the svx then eventually bought some from napa that they had in stock.

For us East coasters, subarupartsdepartment.com, out of Texas, offers discount prices and parts diagrams for reference. Subarupartsforyou.com, out of Connecticut, also offers discounts and have been quick to ship.
My one purchase from our local dealer was a bumper cover. Paid retail but, it still came out less than paying shipping from the on-line discount sources The carton was 6 ft. x 4 ft. x 2 ft., must of originally held 3 or 4 covers.

I've ordered a dozen times from Jackie @ Annapolis and have had nothing but stellar service... parts arriving within a few days via FedEx. Friendly, fast, reliable and willing to look up your part numbers and help you out. Highly recommended.

Yep, well worth it. A lot of her prices beat any of the other sources I've checked into as well.
