deck randomly shuts off
 

I dont know why but the deck randomly will shut off but it still has power to eject and accept cd's

any idea?

Most stereo's have two power inputs, a constant battery 12v that maintains memory and ejects CD's. And a switched 12v, that gets power from the key and signals the device to "power on".

Check the wiring on the switched 12v, on most universal harnesses it is yellow. The red one will be the constant power and have a fuse.

If that's not it, it could be a problem with the deck. Or some units will shut down if a speaker wire shorts out.

I agree with hocrest, the 12v acc wire on the deck is most likely loose.
Most decks use 12v constant for eject so you don't have to have the key on to eject the CD.
