I stopped by Ann Arbor Subaru this morning to talk to them about a timing belt replacement. The people in the shop give me the impression that they eat, breathe and sleep Subaru. Since it was such a small dealership, I assumed that they didn't see many SVXs, but the service writer assured me that they see all the SVXs in the area.
The estimate I was given for replacing the timing belt and front engine seal was $350. I also wanted a feel for their service costs in general, so I asked what it would cost me for a remanufactured transmission. The total was $2800. I think after the introduction I'll feel pretty comfortable taking my car there. Now we just have to see what kind of work they do and how they treat my car and me. |
Congrats
Congrats on finding a good service dealer. I have one over here in NH and I think there might be another somewhere in the US. Certainly where eddycat works.:)
It's good to here the good one also. We mostly get news from the BAD ones. |

Just hangin'
Wouldn't it be nice to get paid for typing drivel like this....?:p
Sounds like that guy that just sold his SVX for an Eclipse (oh the shame of it!) could have hired you full time. Tough luck with cars sometimes. You need to work (contract) for the auto manufactures (design group) and tell them what they're doing wrong. "Don't put that bolt down there you bozo!" How the heck is the mechanic supposed to get that one out?!!!;) |
