I have a 3d printer... Who needs replacement parts?

Recently, I fixed my 3d printer that I have had for many years and it is finally functional! I am looking to build my portfolio of things I have designed/printed and so I decided to post here and help contribute as I know some parts are getting much much harder to find.

Some details:
I have a delta printer (round bed)
My print area is about 200MM diameter, 260MM high.
I have been printing with PLA (can be used in temperatures up to 140F) and have just begun using ABS plastic (in temperatures up to 170F)
The printer works best with smaller parts with flat surfaces, but with more experience I definitely will learn methods to be able to print more complex shapes.
I am using Fusion 360 and have about 40-50 hrs of experience with the program so far.
If you send me something, I will take a look at it and let you know if I think I can do it or not. I am not seeking payment (for now) aside from shipping cost, which will generally be a USPS small flat rate box.

Attached are some pictures of a grommet I made for someone. This is my first (vehicular) part that I designed and printed. ABS prints will come in black as that is the color I have now, but ABS can be primed and painted, or vapor smoothed with acetone to get rid of layer lines.

If you are interested, message me on here with a good hand drawn diagram and part # or pictures. If you don't know the part number then pictures are nice to have.

If you provide your email in the message I will respond to you there.

P.S. - I am not responsible for misused parts and or injuries. It seems like this is the type of thing you need a disclaimer for.

The timing is perfect. I have been eyeing them as well since the prices have really come down. What I would really want is a nice scanner but those are $$$. I would try using a flatbed scanner to start a drawing if you already have the part on hand.

I've been a CAD Draftsman for over 30 years, so I could draw my own parts, but what type files do you need? I have nothing I need right now, but for future reference....

If you care to do research, I am using Cura as my slicer (Cura is a program that turns the object into layers that the printer prints), and I can read .3MF, .OBJ and .STL files.

My first SVX part has been finished today. As many of you probably know, remote replacements aren't cheap. I designed and printed a new body for the remote, and it only needs a bit or tweaking to get perfect now. I am also thinking about changing the button design to something more pretty. At the moment, the design still allows for the original sticker to be placed over it. I do have some but they are slightly off dimension wise. I also modified the back cover to have some more design, but I also have a version of the piece with the plain flat back.

Take a look and let me know what you guys think!

Great job! These remotes are long gone, this is a nice option for anyone trying to keep the old ones going.

It's been a while now, maybe a year or so but there were quite a few people looking for these tiny plastic pieces for the window that were discontinued. I'm not sure if anyone ever got them printed but people were really in need of them! I *think* it was the sleeve lock, 62101PA081 but my old brain could be wrong. These things are made of a pretty resilient nylon or something with a bit of flex in them so they don't immediately crack.

Yes, it was the "Sleeve Lock Regulator" that was needed, there was someone 3-D printing them, not sure if they are still printing them or not....

Irox was the member who created them. Here is the link to the 3D printed sleeve lock regulator by Shapeways. Available for $10.00 each

Hi,

thanks for reminding me. That fell on the back burner with recent events.

I'll publish my STL file for the clip and post a link to it, then anybody can print one at home. I would recommend doing it in nylon (which is why I went with Shapeways), but PLA or ABS will work in a pinch, at least for a while.

Hope you are all staying safe!

Ian.

Not to threadjack but my printer is on its way!

I don't have the free time that many have with the recent issues but I will try to make time whenever I can.

Here's my first fix... My seat adjustment trim broke off from being pushed on by the seat in its lowest position, so I designed this and printed it. It's not much, but it accomplishes it's goal! I am looking at redesigning the automatic shifter lever, making a new cylinder type handle rather than a bulky one from the factory. Will update with more pictures when done.

Nice! Did you upload to Thingiverse by any chance?

Not a part, but attached is a design of the Subaru SVX Alcyone Horns for anyone that wants to make something with them.

FYI, it would be nice to have STL be a valid file format for upload on the forum.

Nice!

Looks like there are a few SVX related items on thingiverse now:
