Guess who's running 87 octane
That's right, me. We developed a variant of the ECUtune Stage One code to run 87 octane. It's purring nicely.

So I am guessing that you made the fuel maps even richer to do this? I am curious what the differences are.
PS - very exciting. 87 is finally just below $2 here. I would love to run that instead of paying $2.20 for 93. |
Hey, you're lucky. In new Mexico it only goes up to 90 octane. I wish I COULD try 93.

Check this out. You may be able to boost up that octane to ~93 with no harm to the motor, unlike some additives. |
Did you gain any power?
|
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking anything you do to enable an SVX to run 87 octane gasoline will worsen fuel economy to the point that you'll realize no savings over running premium.

RON = research octane rating
MON = Motor Octane rating Europe uses RON and the US uses an average of the two to tell what kind of gas you are getting. I am trying to look for a reference to explain it in depth, but I can't find a good one right now. |
Sooooo long story short, your 98 is approximately our 93.

-really??... that sux :mad:

From what I have just found, your "super" is our "regular 95" ... :confused:
