Water pump replacement

Is this a shop only job, or can it be done in the driveway with hand tools....(or somewhere in between)
any good shops near b-ham?

Hi again.

Usually when the timing belt is replaced, the water pump is also replaced, because it usually fails just after you get the belt replaced. This job could be done in the driveway, and there is a how to in the "how to" locker. If you need to find a good source of parts, let me know and I can suggest a few. Burlington is the only place I have had any experience and it is only 25 miles south of Bellingham. :)

Great to see another central Washington SVXer on here.
I replaced my water pump not long ago. Its not a difficult job.

Mine took about 4hrs. I also replaced the front main while I was in there as it was leaking. I was able to get a pump at Stewart subaru. Cost was around $99. They actually had them in stock along with all the seals I needed.
