Another New Guy

Got my SVX about 2 months ago. Bought it from Seattle and had it shipped to Memphis (Timber was previous owner, some of you know him)

I have never seen an SVX in the Memphis area. When I had it registered and titled, the DMV computer would not accept "SVX" so on paper, I am driving a Subaru "JF1" (first 3 of the vin).

I saw a Black 97 at Whidbey Island WA on the Navy Base (I am a retired Navy Chief Warrant Officer) a couple years ago and knew one day I would have a 97 (but i wanted red, already have a black Outback).

I am glad to finally own an SVX and be on the forum. You guys really put out a lot of good stuff.

Bill

Yeah, wait...how'd you let that happen, Earl? :)

Anyway, welcome to the site, Bill!

Since you purchased your SVX from the Pacific-Northwest, you are required to at least attend one of the Northwest SVX meets. I'm not making this stuff up either...

So which meet are you planning on coming to? Seafood Meet, Fall Colours Tour, Spring Classic? Better yet, don't choose!! Just come to all of them!!

Sorry I took one of your SVXes from the area but we just don't have them in Memphis (but we got one now!). You seem to have more than your fair share, I'm just trying to equal out the distribution.

I do get up to the Pacific Northwest on work, usually a couple times a year BUT I fly and rent cars (how dreadful) and leave the SVX in the garage all alone.

It is a bit far to drive to a meet and I sure wouldn't want to show up in a rental.

It would be fun to meet you. You could show up in a rental and ride with someone else. :) We have some members who don't bring their SVXi because they are in the shop or other things, but they are still welcome. If you come to the area, we can get some members together to at least meet you and have some fun. :)

Thanks, I'll keep the invite in mind. I currently have no trips scheduled to that part of the country for the rest of this year.

my grandfather was in the navy during WWII, he was a bomb flinger. he talks about his travels and battles a lot. i like to hear about them too. they just took his boat, Bon Hom Richard, apart. he got the piece on the very tip of the front. it is in his living room now
