Sunroof Not Working
Ok guys,
Tried to search for the "legendary" moonroof off a 99-00 Impreza GT turbo but couldn't find one currently. Unfortunately the only one the guy had was cracked, took the measurements, it fits perfectly in an SVX tho. My OEM one was rusting out on the sides, between the seal and metal, so I had to remove it and deal with the rust and repaint. Removed the sunroof chassis too, it had few minor corrosion spots, fixed them and everything... and put it back together without the sunroof panel. Connected everything back and tried the mechanism. NOTHING! Baffled, revisited all the wirings and plugs... still nothing is happening. It was perfectly working before... any ideas? |
Re: Sunroof Not Working
Just a guess. Some were along the line you touched a wire to ground and blew a fuse. Do u notice anything else not working. Dome light, dash lights, vanity mirror ,spot lights etc. I can't find it in the SVX wire diagram, but the Legacy has it tied into that fuse. They use # 24 and 25 fuses. All your windows are operating correct right?

Thanks Conn. Ok, seems the sunroof/windows system is not working.
Checked all the fuses I could see, they are all perfectly working. My next guess would be the relays of the system. I can see one of them within the sunroof mechanism. The other one (of the windows) I could not locate. Any help guys? I have attached the wiring diagram of the sunroof within this reply. |
Re: Sunroof Not Working
There are multiple relays under the driver's seat for the window and power Dr seat, I believe.

Re: Sunroof Not Working
There are mechanical lockout switches internal to the sunroof motor. It's possible that somehow one of them is telling the motor that it's at the end of its travel and the sunroof is closed, thus keeping it from starting. Also, you could try jumpering the motor directly to take the switch out of the equation.
