cv joint repair

I have a 94 fwd sxv and my drivers side cv joint falled after removing the entire assembly I noticed the outer joint had falled. After removing the boot I see my issue the clip that retain the ball bearings had broke. So now I see no point in buying the whole assembly for 275 dollars,I'm just going to purchase that clip for something like thirty dollars and try to put it back together.Any help on reassembly would be great.

sorry, can't help on the repair, but why not just pick up a whole rebuilt axle from someplace local, i.e., Autozone or Advance? My local Advance Auto Parts has a rebuilt FWD axle in stock for $59.99 with a lifetime warranty.

This is another place that many have had good luck with. :)

I found an SVX in a junkyard and picked up the two front CV axles for $90 and had them installed for $150. There is another option.
