Spell check on Mozilla

I just had the latest version of Mozilla Firefox installed on my computer, When replying to a post her on the network, I noticed that if I type an incorrect word or misspell any word, it lets me know my underlining it with a series of small red dots.
It doesn't give me suggestions for correcting them, just alerts that they are wrong. Once I type it correctly, the dotted line disappears.

I tried this on IE (which was my default browser) and this feature doesn't exist. Anyone else notice this?

Have we always had this feature, or is this part of the new upgrade?

That's a part of the FF upgrade, if you right click on the underlined word, it will give you suggestions. You can also right click to add words like SVX to the dictionary:cool:

I use google toolabr in IE. You have to actually click a button for spell check, but it works.

Right-clicking hte word that is underlined will give you suggestions.

Might I say that firefox has the most frustrating and thick spell checker of any software I've used previously and I'm including 15 year old Amiga software. I'm a horrible speller and half the time, I mangle it and it has no idea what I really mean. I usually have to use google, or OpenOffice or something, which are both excellent (compared to firefox.)

I don't understand it, because Thunderbird's spell checker is pretty good.

MS Office always had that built in it, but recently it got better than their old versions.
