Rubbing Sound from Wheel Well

Okay, there is a severe rubbing- cla clunk noise happening about every two seconds like plastic is rubbing against the wheel it sounds like. But when I look down there, the plastic casing underneath engine and next to the wheel well is loose, but nothing has the range to hit the tire. My buddy did my brakes not too long ago, and they are a bit squeaky now. Could a bad brake job have created this problem. I will upload a soundclip today. What would you guys do? Take it to autozone and let them diagnose the problem? I ductaped the loose plastic which is still a bit loose and this sound is just hideous the car basically is undrivable and it sounds like it is coming from one individual wheel well side where the plastic is loose. Any ideas?

Rubbing Noise from wheel

Hi, I had the rear brakes done several years ago and everything was fine.
A few months later I had Two people riding in the back and wow, how embarassing!
A loud, awful noise from the back wheel was the cause. I took the car back to the shop and they found it to be a rubbing noise, rust between backing plate and rotor they said. That was about 4 yrs. ago and I never herd it again. I looked at the plates this summer and I could see lots of rust.

I hope this will help with your problem.

Bye for now.........Ralph

Check for;
1) Warped rotor
2) Bent dust shield
3) Bad strut
4) Nail in tire
5) bearing

how do I check for these? Must I remove the tire? Recommend I take it in?

If you can get somebody to walk along side of the car as you drive it, you may be able to hear where it is coming from. Good luck. :)
