Delay in Shifting?

I just bought a SVX and was driving it around and noticed that in drive with it floored in first gear when it reaches the redline the rpm drops about 600 rpm before going back up to the redline and then finally shifting into second (it only does this when the "POWER" light doesn't come on) has anyone else experienced this? and whats the problem?

I'm thinking you have Duty Solenoid A problems. Does the power light blink many times just as you start the car or just once and off?

You may need to adjust your brake band

No the power light doesnt blink when i start up the car it just shuts off.

Then most likely, you need to adjust the brake band...just like TE1221 said.

Does anyone have a photo or directions how to find the adjustment bolt? Can you work from the top side?
