huck369 - inventor of the swap

How can you be the inventor of the swap when these guys have been doing it for 3 years now?

http://www.smallcar.com/svx/index.htm?tmx=114025

by the way there was (is) an SVX on www.trademe.co.nz that has the 5 speed fitted.

I would stay as far away as possible from the guys you gave a link to. At least you are in NZ which will be easier. They did not invent the swap, they started doing it after some had been done. Many members have had (including myself) many problems with the work they have done. :( :(

Because I did it before them:eek: ...and they used my write up as the basis for thier kit (but I never recieved any compensation for it)

Did my swap in 2001, before that there was ZERO information on-line about doing the swap in a SVX....I know, because I looked for months trying to find info.
So once I completed mine, I did the write-up so everyone could benifit from all I learned.

I've never asked for anything in return, just wanted to make it easier on my SVX brethern.

....and thanks JJ

Huck,
sorry for sounding "brash" - since I am in NZ, I will pray to the west at midday (to Australia!!).

Glad that you have made many other happy - but me I'm just a lazy guy who has only ever owned 1 automatic (SVX).

regards

Steve in little ol' NZ

Tom

I've done a right hand drive conversion so would be happy to talk to you about what I learned...I think some aspects of the conversion are easier for RHD but equally, I think some are harder.

Granca

Graham in the UK has had a 5 speed in his UK rhd Pearlie since before I can remember meeting him, and that was at the 10th Anniversary meet in Devon on 2002.

I'll give him a shout, and he could give you a list of the things to watch out for.

Joe:)
