For anyone buying aftermarket rims, make sure they offer
you Hubrings, one for each wheel.
The make the rim fit snug against the factory hubcenter.

Bolt on your wheel, and your done.....
Mostly youll want these to prevent unwanted

do they fit all wheels.
I don't think I have them on my rims

ensteele 08-03-2003 10:02 AM

Do all aftermarket rims need them?

immortal_suby 08-03-2003 10:16 AM

Aftermarket rims that do not have the exact centerbore as the svx rim need them to properly center the tire on the hub. They are made specifically to fit the inside of the aftermarket rim and the hub on the car.

Motorsport-SVX 08-03-2003 11:30 AM

its like this

90% of the rims on the market now a days wont come
hubcentric specific for your car..
for example, its much easier to make the centerhole
in the New wheel larger then what all cars need, and then offer hubcenter rings specific for your vehicle
This way they get have their rims properly fit just about any
application.
There are only about 8 different size center bores used
on most cars out there, luckily the SVX is a 56.1 bore and thats the same as alot of Nissans and other cars on the market.
If you dont have the rings, I suggest contacting
the place you bought the rims from and see if they have
them for you. If not, have them contact the manufacturer
of the rims and for about $10 or less they will usually send you a set of 4.
Keep in mind, all centerbores of the Rims can also be different, so its important your center ring fits tightly in the Rim just like it will on the hub. Just about all wheel manufactures out there offer these rings, so check it out.
Sometimes the rings are plastic, some more hi tech companys make their rings out of aluminum.

wouldnt say any car Need them, but they make them for a reason, and since the cost is so cheap and they are readily
available, I suggest getting some if you dont have them
and you have any vibration problems at any speed.....
Some people will think its wheel balancing causing the problem when it could just be solved by a set of rings.....

Motorsport-SVX 08-03-2003 01:02 PM

They are sized by the inner and outter diameter....
Depends on the size of the hole in the rim.....not sure on
Focals.

The inner diameter has to be 56.1 mm
not sure what Focals size Focals use for the outter
diameter.
If you contact a Focal dealer in your area, they should
be able to tell you.......
