Can you name the tune and the artist at the end? Old schoolers should find this easy:D

That is freakin' fantastic! I love that! Thanks, Todd. You deserve an egg salad sandwich and some Tang!. :D

BUZZZZZZZ

Sorry to the Are Dub of Jay, but he is incorrect.

Anyone else????

Todd

(Thanks for the SNL reference. My little sister was ALMOST named Lisa:eek: "Poor Mr. Lubner, God rest his soul, born without a spine")

Yeah, I've been watching that video every day for almost a week, now. The wheels rolling uphill really bother me, but I guess if they were weighted pretty severely, they could do that. Other than that, it's friggin' fantastic. Apparently it took hundreds of takes, and the word is that there's only one CG element. I think that one element is the sign at the end.

Listen to the "very last" few notes. Those are definitely from Another One Bites the Dust. :D:D:D

Meanwhile, define "old schoolers." You can't get much more "old school" than me, especially music-wise (Radio/Disco Deejay '72-84).

Aredubjay 04-22-2003 02:06 PM

Nick,
The tires bothered me, too. Just don't seem "right." But the rest of it (especially the moisture activated windshield wiper spider) was worth that one little moment of discomfort. :D

Took 606 takes.

The full advert is divided in two - because the studio couldn't fit in all the kit at once.

Just one second of computer generation is used to link the two halves - when an exhaust pipe rolls across the floor.

amazing video

the effect with the tires on the ramp could have been produced by adding heavy weights to the insides of the tires in specific spots, which would allow them to bob back and forth like in the video, and to keep them from rolling off the ramp

Bwana 04-22-2003 06:31 PM

I guess i was the only one bored enough to actually read the article. :p

They used spare bolts and nuts to weight the wheels VERY specific places so that they would actually roll UPHILL. It looks weird, but somehow they got it to work!

wow i was right on
