subaruparts.com order

"Hey everyone, I'm going to the store, want anything?"

:D

Actually, I'm ordering quite a few things from subaruparts.com as many of you know my car was hit and now it's time to get her back together. I'm buying all the parts myself to save a few bucks that the insurance company already paid me. :D As most of you know, their minimum shipping charge is around $7.00 so for smaller parts it is really not worth it. So I thought I'd see if any one wanted any small parts to piggyback in with my order (if they are small enough it won't raise the shipping cost, and they are close enough I might see about picking it up in person). Then you would just have to pay the shipping from me to you.

Keep in mind for this to be a good deal to you, we are talking about fairly small light weight items, otherwise for me to ship it to you may approach their shipping prices. But for little plastic trim pieces, caps, gaskets, whatever, this could be a good deal.

Just thought I'd ask quick, I know I personally refuse to pay $7 shipping on a $1.25 seat trim cap, I wait to pile up my orders.:D

Troy, that's a great and thoughtful offer. Youze guys who need the window clips, or have the condensation in their tail lights and need gaskets -- or those little "fake screws" on you H-6 cover, this is a grand opportunity.

When do you think you may be placing the order? I may have a couple of small things (rear center light panel gasket, a window clip or two for "safety" and . . . a couple of things I've forgotten, because I didn't want to pay the 7 bucks shipping :). )

Again, Troy, thank you for your generous offer.

I think I'll put in the order Wednesday the 6th. Anyone that wants something PM or email me your requests and we'll talk. If I don't get a ton of requests and nothing to expensive, you don't have to give me any $$ until after I get the items in my hands. :) And I'm not looking to make any money off of this, I'll just charge my actual shipping to you, if even that.

Randy - you mentioned the tail light condensation and gaskets... is this a proven fix for that? I've heard the ol' drill holes fix but never got up the nerve.

If my experience serves as "confirmation," consider it confirmed. I was getting condensation in my tail lights and simply replaced the gaskets. Neither have developed condensation since. Make sure you don't overtighten the assemlies when you re-install. The assemblies can work as "cookie cutters" if you do. I did not replace the gasket in the center panel and it has now developed a minor case of the "drizzlies." I am going to try simply turning the gasket over and see if that helps. If not, I'll be ordering new. You may even want to try this with yours before ordering new. Just a thought.
