Appreciate the Subaru
This week I'm doing some work on my MR2. I'm replacing the water pump (it was squeaky) and valve cover gaskets, flushing the brake fluid and trying to figure out the idle problem I'm having. Oh, and I'm installing my Konis. :)
Working on this beastly little thing makes me appreciate my Subarus. The spark plugs on the SVX may be a huge pain in the ass, but other than that Subarus are so much easier to work on than the MR2. The entire engine is surrounded by car. :p |
Agreed. Swapped the engine on my daughter's Lexus ES300 - a transverse V-6 - what a PITA that was. I'd gladly trade 3 tranny swaps on a SVX. :D
But then the MR2 offers a whole lot of fun for not much money...I often wish I still had my 92 turbo back. If I could find a decent MK I (at a price I could afford - not much) with the Supercharger option I think I'd buy it. |
I'd like to find the guy who designed the transverse mounted engine and beat him over the head with a McPherson Strut.
