Award deserved
Whoever came up with the 9005 lo-beam mod deserves an Award!! Just did this yesterday and it makes a HUGH difference for the better!!
It's easy enough that no SVX has a reason not to do it. With a Dremel tool it took less than five minutes per bulb. Had a harder time changing the bulb, than modifying it. Jonathan |
Im new to the network, what exactely is this mod and how do I do it?

In short, you're replacing the 9006 lo-beam bulb with a 9005 hi-beam bulb. To do this you have to modify the 9005 bulb to fit the 9006 housing. Click: 9005 Lo-Beam Mod For a perfect / easy writeup to do it. Jonathan |
true story it has yet to get dark enough to tell but im very pleased. i run mine all day like running lights. do to crappy drivers every where i rather be safe and have a little less of a chance getting my baby hit. and i didnt have a dremal and it took about an hour with a crappy file and alot of hand stress. when i find a dremal i will pull them back out and touch up.

9005 conversion
I just took a strait edge razor blade and cut the little lines in the bulb sockets that prevented the 9005 from sliding in it took almost zero time...and no tools. :)
