Help me get everything together for a Manual Trans swap

I called all the places around me for a late model subaru that I can get parts from but I've had no luck.

this is what I need right?

trans (obviously)
rear diff (depends on which trans I get)
clutch cylinders (master/slave)
pedal assembly
shifter and linkages

Now - I've read it's easy to just get a donor car rather than find parts.

Will this work: 2002 Subaru Legacy (flood damage) http://www.salvagedirect.com/asp/vie...136&bhcp=1#TOP

I noticed the engine is transversally mounted - so is this a FWD model?

What can I mix and match without any problems? I want to go hydraulic too ...no cable. For ease I'd like to just grab a subaru wrx but I can't find one and it's pissin me off.

Any suggestions?

<< noticed the engine is transversally mounted - so is this a FWD model?>>

thats not a subaru engine in the pic. 1997 was the start of only AWD production vehicles for subaru in the USA.

check around at junkyards in the area. you'll find all the parts you need. depending on the year/model tranny you get you might not need a clutch cyl.

Not really.....

"Transmission: Automatic"

yeah I knew that engine looked a bit fishy ....wasn't even horizontally opposed. okay ...so if my donor car is:

a (1997+) legacy it'll work fine, I just have to do the rear diff gear swap.
a (1997+) WRX just the tranny, rear diff will work just fine
an (1997+) impreza tranny and rear diff swap, or does it has the same final drive as the WRX/SVX?

I found this website: http://www.iaai.com which seems to have the biggest inventory of wrecked cars I've ever seen. I've got a body shop connection so hopefully when I find the donor, I can have them bid on it.

Is there any pedal assembly that's the easiest to adapt to the SVX? or are they all equally as difficult?

Thanks a lot for everyones help. I'd just really like to get everything I need before my winter break starts so I can begin.

Should I piece it together like this, or just try to get the whole car?

Some other things you will need:

-Starter -manual trans cars use different starters than autos
-Drive shaft -modify yours or get another one and modify it to fit
-Clutch
-Pressure plate
-Flywheel
-Flywheel bolts (different than the flex plate bolts from your auto)

There may be more things, that's just off the top of my head after reading your list.
