Moundsville Penitentiary (a creepy place?)

Have anyone been to or heard about the Moundsville Penitentiary at Moundsville, WV? (aka West Virginia State Prison)

It's halloween time...:D Is this a good place to visit?

I heard ppple said it's creepy. There're hundreds of some of the worst state prisoners died in there. It's open for public to visit. I also heard ghost hunters have been there for investigations ...

If we go, what do we need to prepare?:lol:

My friends went not too long ago. They said it was pretty cool.

Cool.

Were they scared?

Did they go on day tours or night tours?

No, I didn't mean those stuff. I am not as scared as you, jerry ... :p

I was thinking of bringing a powerful torchlight(leds one?), my digital camera...or should I buy the EMF meter and IR thermometer? :D Later on, I could also use the EMF meter to detect my car's short circuit if there's any short. Maybe I can also use that to test which type of HID ballasts produce less magnetic fields(so maybe is better) and also use the IR thermometer to check how hot are my brakes(whether the caliper is sticky) and which type of rotors stand heat better...haha good investment eh? :D:rolleyes:

I went a couple years ago, on the "all-night" tour. You show up at around 8 at night and you get a guided tour first, then they turn you loose to explore on your own. You have until 6 am to crawl around the place to your hearts content. This is an evil, cold place. I didn't see any ghosts but damn...bad things happened there and they left their residue, so to speak. There is no electricity (or heat). The cells are as they were when last used, full of bizarre graffitti. Very hard to imagine that humans lived in that place.
So yeah it's plenty creepy. Dress warmly and bring a flashlight with extra batteries. We left at 3 am - unless you're a diehard paranormal investigator  that's more than enough time to see the place.
