Some respect for Chevy Cobalt's

Admittedly I'm biased towards Subaru's, and never really gave much respect to Cobalt's...

Today Melis's oldest daughter was in an accident. A hit and run driver bumped her while on the highway, and sent her and her finance off of the road. I'm not sure exactly what acrobatics were performed for over 150 feet through brush comprised of 2-3" thick trees. From the swath cut through the trees, sometimes they were on their side traveling forward, at one point hitting a large clump of trees and spinning/rolling? sideway. The car ended on it's side and they got out through the sunroof.

Thank God, they are both OK. Some small lacerations on her hands and bruises from the seatbelts.

After they were taken away in the ambulance, the car caught fire while the tow guys were dragging it onto the rollback. But even without the fire, every corner and side of the car was destroyed... And they both walked away...

 Wow! Thank God they're OK Dave. Hard to believe even the most callous dirt-bag could drive away after causing such mayhem.

Glad they were okay. I just recall talking to Melis about how she just bought it too :(. But luckily cars are replaceable, and it gave its life to save theirs. That's all that matters. :)

Just yesterday, a member of our local Subaru forum posted pictures and the story behind a rollover involving his wife, their two-year-old, and their Chevy Equinox. Looks like safety has come a long way!

It's good to hear they're all right. :)

I am glad that they are ok.

Next time you come by, Dave, ask me about my 100mph, end over end after getting hit by a tractor trailer, followed by a 700" slide on the roof, in a Renault Le Car...

Well, I'd much rather be reading this post than the one saying that someone was hurt badly. Very glad to hear everyone's alright.

You'd better thank the Man upstairs they're ok!!

So generally, newer cars are safer except for SVX, one of the exceptions......:D

Glad they are okay and walk away. :)

That would explain why concussions are so easy to get...

Glad they are ok :( this is what scares me the most while driving...
Witnessed a lot of similar accidents, where people were just driving normally and suddenly racers just bump into them.
