Possible Future Events
 

At Friday's mini-meet, I threw out the idea of a tour of Vancouver Island next year (2005) to a few people. Maybe this can be part of an annual event where we go up to BC every year for a weekend event.

Another future event could be a tour of one of the San Juan Islands.

Would anyone be interested?

I think it is a great idea to have an annual trip to BC. Likewise probably one big event somewhere in OR and maybe one in far eastern WA or ID. That will make us more truly "Northwest" SVX (as opposed to Puget Sound SVX) and get more people an easier chance to participate.

Would love to check out those islands. Only ever been to Victoria, via the clipper, so never explored that whole big island or the San Juans either.

i was a little kid when my family was there, but I remember the west coast of Vancouver Island to be spectacular. i'd have to leave the svx at home, though, and bring the kayaks on the outback. (the road is probably a little less... mmm.. adventurous than it was in those days.)

I've been up to Vancouver Island 4 times in the last 6 years. I went up the west coast of the island the first time and that is when I fell in love with the island. I promised myself that when I grew up I'd move to Vancouver Island :p

The only area of Washington State I haven't travelled is north of Spokane.

Other ideas: Isn't there an amusement park near Coeur d'Alene?
Up Hwy 97/97A to Chelan and beyond?
Banks Lake & Grand Coulee Dam?
Hwy 84 along the south side of the Columbia.

I vote to make this the Puget Sound SVX Club! :D :D

Oh, I mean, I think we should have more meets in other states and BC as well. (I hope that is better)

I agree. This would be a great way to see the Great Northwest and use the SVX for what it is suppose to do - tour. :)
